Nootan City Campus

The Nootan Campus came to life with the Nootan Sarvavidyalaya School that was supported by visionaries like Shri Govindrav Utrankare, the first freedom martyr of Visnagar, Shri Sankalchandbhai K. Patel, Shri Shivabhai P. Patel and Shri Prabhudas G. Patel who diligently helped with the establishment, management and growth of the new school. With a strong desire to serve their society, these freedom fighters and leaders took on the challenge to spread literacy, and inspired the school with their great vision. Shri Motibhai Nathabhai Patel became the first principal who with his commitment and inspiring personality nourished the emerging Nootan School. Under the leadership of Shri Sankalchandbhai Patel the people of Visnagar funded the first campus hostel to allow students from distance places to live on the campus and study.

This great effort also encouraged parents to enroll their children in schools and thus Shri Sankalchandbhai Patel’s efforts to eradicate illiteracy in the area gained momentum. In 1950, a generous donation by the town’s eminent personality, Shri Chimanbhai Narayanbhai Parikh, funded the expansion of the school which was named after Chimanbhai’s father as the N. M. NOOTAN SARVA VIDYALAYA, VISNAGAR. At present, under dynamic supervision and guidance by Shri Prakashbhai S.Patel, the N. M. Nootan Sarva Vidyalaya ranks high in the Mehsana District.

The campus has colleges that offer bachelor’s degrees in Commerce, Biotechnology, Business Management and Computer Studies. There is additionally a Post-Graduate Diploma course in Computer Application, which is unique to the area. New additions of facilities like multimedia classrooms, computer labs, science labs and gymnasium provide students a modern learning environment. Our science and mathematics laboratories inspire students to take interest in their subjects while other technology facilities in electric and chemical studies support vocational training. Extra-curricular activities such as N.C.C., N.S.S., Eco Club and Scouts & Guides help develop national spirit and social awareness in the students.
